Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 14 July 2026

These terms apply when you book a camping or trekking experience with Old Kodai Camping at Vellagavi. By booking with us, you agree to them.

Booking and payment

Dates are confirmed once an advance deposit is received. The balance is payable as agreed before or on the day of the trek. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). Payments may be made by UPI, card or bank transfer through our secure payment gateway. Prices are per person and include what is listed for your chosen package.

The trek is strenuous

Reaching Vellagavi is a real trek on a steep, foot-access trail — there is no road. It calls for reasonable fitness and proper footwear, and it can be demanding in heat or rain. You confirm that everyone in your group is fit to undertake it, and you agree to follow your guide's instructions at all times. If you have a medical condition that may be affected by strenuous activity or altitude, please tell us before booking.

Forest permissions and village rules

The camp and the onward trail cross Forest Department land. We arrange the required permissions as part of your booking. Vellagavi is a living, sacred village: footwear is removed inside the hamlet, and plastic, alcohol and smoking are not permitted. Please carry your waste out with you and treat the village and forest with respect.

Changes, cancellations and weather

Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy. The trek depends on weather and trail conditions; for safety we may reschedule or adjust an itinerary, and we will offer you the best available alternative if that happens.

Your responsibility and our liability

Trekking and camping in a forest carry inherent risks — uneven terrain, weather, wildlife and remoteness. You take part voluntarily and accept these ordinary risks. To the extent permitted by law, Old Kodai Camping is not liable for injury, loss or delay arising from those inherent risks, from your failure to follow guidance, or from events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Photography

We may take photographs at the camp for our own promotion. If you would prefer not to appear in them, just tell your guide and we will respect that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Dindigul, Tamil Nadu.
